Meeting held with Meat Exporters chaired by Secretary Livestock Punjab
To increase meat exports, improve export volume and earn valuable foreign exchange, an important meeting was held with meat exporters under the chairmanship of Secretary Livestock Punjab. The issues related to meat exports were discussed in detail in the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, the provision of facilities to meat exporters was discussed so that maximum increase in exports could be made possible and the national economy could be strengthened. After this, issues related to the traceability system were discussed so that export quality, transparency and effective fulfillment of global requirements could be ensured. Furthermore, the steps taken by the Punjab government to establish disease-free zones and disease control compartments were discussed in detail.
In this regard, it was also considered to create an effective forum, dashboard or platform through the Livestock Connect app so that meat exporters can get direct access to fattening and feedlot farmers. The Punjab Livestock Card Scheme was also discussed in detail in the meeting and it was clarified that animals registered under this scheme are already suitable for exports. The method of effectively including these animals in the export channel was also considered.

In addition, issues related to the use and promotion of Brahman semen to increase meat production were also discussed, while the participants were informed about the steps taken by the Punjab government in this regard. At the end of the meeting, the participants appreciated the steps taken by the Punjab government to establish disease-free zones and disease control compartments and expressed confidence in the government policies to promote meat exports.
