Mamoona Arshad wins World Rabies Day Award 2020. Global Alliance for Rabies Control announced this award. Memoona, as DVM student, conducted survey of rabies and rabies awareness. She also worked on Rabies Vaccine and Dog population control. She was the student at CVAS Jhang.

The international organization has appreciated the efforts of a Pakistani student for playing an effective role in raising awareness about the disease Rabies. Award-winning student, Maimona Arshad won the “World Rabies Day Award” in a personal capacity for the year 2020. This award is given every year on September 28 by the World Organization for Rabies Control.
Maimona Arshad is from Lahore. She received her primary education from a government school, after which she did intermediate and then joined the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Jhang (DVM) on merit.
Awareness campaign and activities:
Maimona Arshad conducted surveys regarding rabies and dog bite cases in Jhang and its surrounding areas. She visited different schools and made students aware about the prevention of this deadly disease and vaccination of dogs. The award also recognized the efforts of SAVERS, an animal sciences society in Lahore, who worked under the banner of Save Pakistan from Rabies.
