Packaged Milk Promotion, President House responds to letter
Packaged Milk Promotion | President House responds to letter regarding campaign against fresh milk | تازہ دودھ کیخلاف مہم، صدر پاکستان کو لکھے گئے خط پر ایکشن
Notice has been taken of a letter written by columnist Dr. Muhammad Jassar Aftab to President Dr. Arif Alvi regarding the campaign against fresh milk being run on the national media in the name of public awareness. The Presidency has directed the Chairman Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to take action on this issue keeping in mind the merits as per the law and rules and regulations.
Dr. Muhammad Jassar Aftab drew the attention of the President of Pakistan to the advertisement campaign against Fresh Milk being run on the national media in the name of ‘public awareness’. The letter stated that medical professionals using the name of Pakistan Medical Association have praised a particular product over a particular product.
It was further requested in this regard that such a systematic campaign against fresh milk is a threat to national food security. Milk quality should be run but under its guise, one company’s product should not be promoted over another type of product. If such permission is granted, then tomorrow, with the help of medical professionals, an advertising campaign will be launched for pulses, vegetables, fruits, spices and even clothes and shoes in the same way that they should be used in packets, not open ones.
