Scientists from the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council have made it possible to give birth to goats through laparoscopic artificial insemination. This Laparoscopic Artificial Insemination in Goats is first time in Pakistan.

Dr. Syed Murtaza Hassan Andrabi, Director, Animal Sciences Institute, and his team completed this work under the Agricultural Linkage Program. Recently, through laparoscopic artificial insemination, 9 goats of the Jattal breed have been born, while more are expected soon.

Dr. Murtaza Hassan Andrabi says that giving birth to goats through this technique is a great success because it has a pregnancy rate of 80 percent. This success is a milestone in the breeding of high-quality goats in Pakistan. Chairman Pakistan Agricultural Research Council Dr. Ghulam Khan and Director General National Agricultural Research Center Engineer Shamim-ul-Sabteen Shah appreciated the efforts of Dr. Andrabi and his team.
