Lady Veterinary Entrepreneurship and Female Vets

Addressing the seminar, Dr. Fariha Talha emphasized the need to increase the capacity of female veterinarians for professional business enterprises in the future. She said that we see very few female entrepreneurs in the veterinary sector in Pakistan.

She said that with the increasing number of women in this profession, there is a great need for female veterinarians to know how important entrepreneurship is. She said that there is a continuous and essential need for guidance in entrepreneurship and our institutions should focus on this. Dr. Fariha Talha also told the female students about her professional career.

She also mentioned the problems of early career and the challenges faced during it. She encouraged the female veterinary students by mentioning their professional life and achievements.

Lady Veterinary Entrepreneurship and Gender Balance

On this occasion, Dr. Ayesha Riaz said that the gender balance in the veterinary profession has changed dramatically over the past few years and along with the increase in the number of women graduating in the veterinary profession, there has also been an increase in the number of women applying for jobs in veterinary institutions.

She said that although this is a significant progress, women still face many challenges. She emphasized that lady veterinary students should not only focus on professional training but should also think about entrepreneurship after obtaining their degrees.

Importance of Entrepreneurship for Lady Vets

Dean Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Prof Dr. Irfan Yousuf mentioned lady veterinary entrepreneurship and various social aspects in this regard. He encouraged the students and stressed the importance of entrepreneurship.

Prof Dr. Irfan Yousaf said that women’s participation in business is a relatively new trend, but in the context of the breakdown of the joint family system and the need for additional income to maintain the standard of living in the context of inflation and rising prices, women will have to enter the world of business. He said that female veterinary professionals are equally talented and determined and like lady professionals from other fields, they can face the challenge of entrepreneurship.
