KMC and Karachi Zoo authorities are obstructing Himalayan bear translocation to its natural habitat. This brown bear brought to the zoo in 2017, along with a black bear . But, the Black bear has died a few years back. According to the report , members of a provincial task force on the zoo/Safari Park had recommended the shifting . Because this is a critically endangered species in Pakistan. Hence, it should shifted either to a wildlife sanctuary or released into its habitat in the northern areas.These bears are omnivores .They go to hibernation in a cave or dug-out den in winters .
