The establishment of disease free zone in Sheikhupura has paved the different avenues of livestock exports. Besides the vaccination of the 5-kilometer area, the department tagged thousands of animals. Furthermore, the Chief Minister had a special meeting with meat exporters to address their issues. Government is going to establish disease-free zone in every district of Punjab. Caretaker Minister Livestock Punjab Ibrahim Hasan Murad expressed his views.

Livestock Minister Punjab added that a livestock census is going to be conducted. It would be mandatory for the farmers to register each animal. Any unregistered animal will be the government’s property. This step would pave the way for traceability while it would also have a positive impact on the exports.

Minister Livestock Punjab further says that the Government is working on hybrid seeds to tackle the fodder scarcity. Along with this, Government is also focusing on breed improvement. Non-descript cows will be improved through the semen of Brahman and Friesian Cows. Furthermore, Government will improve the service delivery of the Livestock Department.

Mr. Ibrahim Hasan Murad further says that Government is working on corporate farming to promote livestock investment in addition to the food processing zone. Furthermore, the Government is also focusing on dairy farmers’ cooperatives. Importantly, the Government is going to introduce a loan scheme for livestock farmers.

Chief Minister Punjab visited Dera Ghazi Khan where he declared Livestock Emergency. We want a tenfold increase in livestock production in Punjab, Livestock Minister Punjab added.

Who is Ibrahim Hasan Murad

Ibrahim Hasan Murad is the Caretaker Minister of Punjab. Besides livestock, he also has the portfolio of Transport and minerals. Previously he also had the local government portfolio. Besides this he is the member of Executive Committee of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). He is also member of Punjab Disaster Management Committee for Floods.

Basically, Mr. Ibrahim Hasan Murad is an educationist and a renowned businessman. He belongs to UMT family. He is the president of University of Management and Technology Lahore. Mr. Murad is also the president of ILM Trust.
