Meat Export Policy approved, Pakistan to export Halal Meat to Tajikistan, extends cooperation to Brazil in Livestock
Under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), there has been significant progress in bilateral relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan. Under a major agreement, Pakistan will export 143,000 tons of halal meat to Tajikistan, worth $14.5 million. Moreover, Halal Meat Export Policy has also been approved.
On the other hand, Pakistan and Brazil have also agreed to further promote partnership in livestock, dairy and meat industries. Further, the dairy sector will benefit from Brazil’s advanced genetics and technology. In this regard, a proposal to establish a joint working group between the two countries to improve meat processing, feedlot fattening, and traceability systems was considered in a high-level meeting between Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain and the Brazilian Ambassador.
Halal Meat Export Potential of Pakistan and its Role in Economic Independence
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also approved the Halal Meat Export Policy. The Prime Minister issued instructions that a three-year comprehensive and actionable strategy be presented for a significant increase in Pakistan’s halal meat exports. Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan’s share in the global halal meat market will be increased with mutual cooperation between the federal and provincial governments. He emphasized on modern slaughterhouses, cold storage, and production according to international standards.
