
GCLI Delegation visited DayZee Farms
A delegation of Green Corporate Livestock Initiative (GCLI) visited DayZee Farms. Dr. Qaiser Shahzad, Managing Director, along with other team members, gave a detailed briefing to the delegation about various initiatives and ongoing activities of DayZee Farms including IVF Lab for cattle embryo production, Semen Production Unit, modern agriculture farming and others. The delegation included Brig Ehtesham, Colonel Abdul Rehman Qureshi, Colonel Imran and others.
Cattle Embryo Productionand Semen Production
Green Corporate Livestock Initiative GCLI delegation also visited labs. Dr. Qaiser Shahzad said that IVF Lab for cattle embryo production and semen production unit equipped with the world’s latest and best technology have been established. Champion bulls and heifers of Brahman and other breeds have been specially imported from JDH and other renowned American breeding companies. The imported animals include the top 1% Brahman animals in the United States. To ensure the quality of semen and embryos, laboratories are being equipped with CASA system and other equipment.
CASA System installed at DayZee Farms
Dr. Qaiser Shahzad further said that we will produce more than 3,000 embryos and more than 200,000 doses of semen annually. Along with this, embryos and semen of other local breeds of animals including Sahiwal, Cholistani, Red Sindhi and Nili Ravi will also be provided, for which the recorded animals of renowned local breeders will be used. Services will also be provided to farmers, breeders and corporate dairy farms for the preparation of embryos at the local level. He said that our aim is to strengthen the livestock sector of Pakistan by using modern breeding services and technology.
Advance Agricultural Farming at DayZee Farms
Dr. Qaiser Shahzad further said that world-class model farming is also continued at DayZee Farms by using modern agricultural technology. A modern irrigation system, the center pivot system, has been installed on the farm. Thanks to this modern system, unlike canal water, extensive farming is being done in Cholistan by using ground water wisely and effectively.
He said that our farm has 4200 acres of desert barren land in Cholistan, which is being rapidly converted into cultivable land. Rhodes grass has been successfully grown on 1000 acres, while preparations are underway for cultivation of crops on the remaining land. The world’s best agricultural technology is being used for cultivation on.
Dr. Qaiser Shahzad further said that along with other measures, a 4.5 MW solar energy system and a 2.5 MW biogas plant are being installed to save electricity.
