Emergency Meeting held at the Livestock Department amid the Flood Situation
In view of the flood situation, an emergency meeting was held in the Livestock Department, which was chaired by Secretary Livestock Ahmed Aziz Tarar. The meeting was attended online by the Director General, Divisional Directors, and Additional Directors. An emergency cell has been established for livestock in flood situation.
It was directed in the meeting that the field staff of the department should remain fully active in the districts adjacent to the rivers, and the public should be informed about the timely transfer and care of livestock. Emphasis was placed on ensuring the provision of medicines, vaccinations, and veterinary facilities in the flood relief camps in the flood-affected areas. The Secretary Livestock said that no employee should be absent during field duty and that officers should visit the flood relief camps.

For further monitoring at a higher level, different districts have also been assigned to senior officers. The Director General Production has been assigned to Gujranwala and Gujarat divisions, the Director General Research to Faisalabad and Sargodha divisions, the Director Planning and Evaluation to Lahore division, the Special Secretary South Punjab to DG Khan and Bahawalpur divisions, the Additional Secretary Admin South Punjab to Multan division, while the Director C&E has been assigned to Sahiwal division.
