Distribution of Punjab Livestock Card continued, Minister Livestock inaugurated
The process of distributing the Chief Minister Punjab Livestock Card ( لائیوسٹاک کارڈ) is underway. Provincial Minister for Livestock Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani inaugurated it. Events were organized for the distribution of the Punjab Livestock Cards in Borivala, Kasur, and other districts. The Minister for Livestock Punjab distributed the cards to farmers in Lahore. Animals Distribution and Card Project progress was reviewed in a meeting.
Importance of Punjab Livestock Card
The Provincial Minister for Livestock said that the Livestock Card ( لائیوسٹاک کارڈ) is a wonderful project of the Chief Minister of Punjab, from which livestock farmers are benefiting. Through this Punjab livestock card, interest-free loan facility of 27,000 per animal will be provided, through which farmers will be able to buy fodder and silage for their animals. He said that in the first phase, 20,000 livestock farmers will benefit from this project. Moreover, the Livestock Card will become functional from December 15.
Member of National Assembly Syed Sajid Mehdi Shah distributed the cards at a ceremony held in Borewala. On the other hand, Member of Provincial Assembly Naeem Safdar Ansari distributed the cards in Kasur. Cards are also being distributed to farmers registering in other cities.
Progress on the Livestock Card Project
On the other hand, an important meeting was held in Lahore. The progress of the plan for the distribution of Punjab Livestock Cards and distribution of Livestock Assets among rural women of 12 districts of South Punjab was reviewed. Minister Livestock chaired the Meeting.
Secretary Livestock Punjab Saqib Ali Ateel, President Bank of Punjab Zafar Masood, and Sector Head of Urban Unit Dr. Abdul Basit also attended the meeting.

The Provincial Minister for Livestock said on this occasion that the Livestock Card ( لائیوسٹاک کارڈ) is a wonderful project of the Chief Minister of Punjab from which livestock farmers will benefit. The distribution of cards has been started from December 5. So far, the Bank of Punjab has approved more than 7,000 applications for Punjab Livestock Cards. The process of verification of more applicants is underway. The Provincial Minister also issued orders to form a steering committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary Punjab to provide 30 percent cash facility for Livestock Cards and to handle other related matters.
Progress on Animals Distribution Project
The Provincial Minister for Livestock further said that the scheme for the distribution of livestock assets among rural widows and divorced women of South Punjab will prove to be a milestone for the prosperity of poor women. This scheme of animals distribution is a major program of the Chief Minister of Punjab for women’s empowerment.
He said that out of the applications received for the distribution of assets among rural women, the names of 5500 widows and divorced women will be drawn through the electronic draw in the first year according to the quota set by 12 districts. Later, the best livestock will be distributed among women through a manual draw.

Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani further said that so far more than 110,000 women have submitted applications, while PITB has sent 14,500 applications to the Urban Unit for physical verification, the verification process of which is underway.
The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary Livestock Usman Tahir, Director Generals Extension, Research, Production, Group Chief Corporate and Investment Bank of Punjab Naufal Dawood, as well as representatives of PITB, Urban Unit and Punjab Social Protection Authority.
