CM Livestock Card Registration started in Punjab for Interest-Free Livestock Loan
Chief Minister Livestock Card Registration (لائیوسٹاک کارڈ) has been started in Punjab. In this regard, a special ceremony was held at the Bank of Punjab Head Office in Lahore. This CM Livestock Card will be operated as Livestock Credit Card to Provide interest-free livestock loan. This Livestock Finance project is a special initiative of the Chief Minister for small farmers.
Provincial Minister of Livestock and Agriculture Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, Parliamentary Secretary Livestock Sardar Asim Sher Mekan, Secretary Livestock Punjab Saqib Ali Ateel, President Bank of Punjab Zafar Masood and other officers also participated in the ceremony.
On this occasion, Provincial Minister for Livestock and Agriculture Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani said that CM Livestock Card registration is a gift to cattle farmers. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif wants the improvement and development of livestock farmers. The prosperity of Punjab is linked to the prosperity of farmers and this livestock credit card will be highly helpful for livestock farmers as a livestock loan.
Benefits of CM Livestock Card
Chief Minister Livestock Card (لائیوسٹاک کارڈ) is an interest-free livestock loan program for cattle farmers worth 11 billion rupees. Eighty thousand cattle farmers will benefit from this livestock finance program, and 4 lakh animals will be prepared for the fattening program. Quality meat from these animals will be exported and used to meet local needs.
An interest-free loan will be given for four months in equal installments through this livestock credit card. A loan of 27,000 rupees per animal will be provided under this livestock finance program.
Details of Livestock Loan
Cattle breeders will be provided interest-free loan through Chief Minister Livestock Card registration. The amount of interest or profit will be borne by the Punjab Government. The total duration of the livestock loan will be a maximum of 150 days (five months). The period of availing the loan will be 120 days (four months). The next 30 days (one month) will be the period to repay the full loan.
A loan of one hundred and thirty-five thousand rupees for at least five heifers and calves at the rate of twenty-seven thousand rupees per animal. A total loan of two hundred and seventy thousand rupees will be provided on a maximum of ten heifers/calves at the rate of twenty-seven thousand rupees per animal. The loan amount will be disbursed monthly. Cattle owners will be able to purchase cattle feed wanda, silage, and salt mix from Bank of Punjab registered local feed dealers using the Livestock Credit Card (لائیوسٹاک کارڈ) with the loan amount.
Terms and Conditions for CM Livestock Card Registration
For the Chief Minister livestock card registration (لائیوسٹاک کارڈ), it is necessary that the applicant is a resident of Punjab province and possesses an original national identity card. Applicant’s mobile phone should be SIM active and registered in his name. Applicants must own at least five to ten calves/calves. Applicants with more than ten calves will also be eligible for this livestock credit card, however, they will be given a livestock finance facility only for above ten animals.
How to register for the CM Livestock Card
From December 15, Chief Minister Livestock Card will be enabled for purchase under the livestock finance program. A farmer who wishes to take a loan should text his identity card number to 8070. The applicant will be verified by the Electronic Credit Information Bureau as having a clean credit history (no default). There will also be Identification and Character verification from NADRA and NACTA.

Further, the Department of Urban Unit shall verify the presence of the applicant livestock and its animals. The applicant must be registered on the database 9211 of the Department of Livestock. Eligible applicants who meet the criteria will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.

Chief Minister Special Initiatives on Livestock
Provincial Livestock Minister Ashiq Hussain Kirmani says that the Chief Minister of Punjab has for the first time allocated 20 billion rupees on a priority basis for the development of the livestock sector, which will benefit small livestock farmers who have 5 to 10 animals. CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz wants the improvement and development of livestock farmers, which will make the dream of the prosperity of Punjab come true along with the prosperity of farmers. Farmers producing healthy animals will be linked with major exporters of Punjab. Further, the Livestock Department is continuing to work on disease-free compartments, zones, and livestock research in the province.

MOU with Bank of Punjab
The MoU signing ceremony for Chief Minister Punjab Livestock Card was held at the Bank of Punjab Head Office in Lahore. The MoU was signed by Secretary Livestock Punjab Saqib Ali Ateel and Bank of Punjab President Zafar Masood. Director General (Extension) Livestock Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Director General (Research) Livestock Dr. Sajjad Hussain, Group Chief Corporate and Investment Bank of Punjab Nofal Dawood and Head Marketing Bank of Punjab Asad Zia along with other officers also participated in the event.
