CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif formally launched the Livestock Card. A special ceremony was organized in Pakpattan for the distribution of Livestock cards among farmers. The Chief Minister distributed cards among farmers and also interacted with the farmers. This is a project under the Livestock Department Punjab.
Chief Minister Punjab Addressed
Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister Punjab appreciated the performance of Provincial Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani. The CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that the Punjab government has taken special steps for the development of farmers. Livestock farmers will be able to get animal feed by providing interest-free loans. She said that the youth have also started livestock farming with the Livestock Card. Farmers who benefit from this card will be linked to exporters. She said that foreign investors want to invest in meat farming. We will provide all facilities for investment in livestock. A special package has been given for the livestock sector.

Details of Livestock Card
Provincial Minister for Livestock Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz immediately allocated Rs 4.4 billion for the card. Through this card, farmers will be able to meet the needs of their livestock and other food needs. Through this card, farmers will be given interest-free loans for four months. The farmer will get an interest-free loan of Rs 27,000 per animal. In two years, Rs 11 billion 15,000 will be provided to farmers under this program, while four lakh livestock will be included in the feedlot program.
He said that 117,000 farmers applied on the online portal for the registration of livestock cards, out of which 13,000 were found eligible. Bank of Punjab will provide livestock cards to 40,000 to 80,000 farmers. He further said that 967 dealers have been registered from whom animal feed, hay, silage, and mineral mixture can be obtained. The registration of 91,907 animals for livestock cards has been completed.
