Vice President Thang Suichen said that the Chinese company Royal Group wants to protect livestock in Pakistan from diseases before importing beef. In this regard, the Livestock Department of Punjab and the Chinese company agreed to cooperate in controlling animal diseases in Punjab.

On this occasion, the Caretaker Minister for Livestock Punjab said that China’s cooperation in the preparation of vaccines for foot-and-mouth disease and other diseases is welcome. All possible support will be provided to Chinese companies to invest in Pakistan.
He said that livestock is a very important part of the rural economy of Punjab. The goals of the livestock sector can be achieved by protecting animals from diseases. He said that the export of meat from Punjab is the focus of Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
On the other hand, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Livestock Punjab Masood Anwar to increase trade relations between the Chinese delegation and the Livestock Department. A delegation from the Chinese company Royal Group attended the meeting headed by Vice President Thang Suichen.
Secretary Livestock Masood Anwar said that options are being considered to work with Chinese experts on prevention of foot-and-mouth disease and other diseases. He said that they welcome suggestions on the preparation of a special dairy and beef economic zone.
The Chinese delegation is looking for cooperation in bread improvement, meat export, genomics and disease control. The Chinese delegation also requested to provide space and facilities in a designated area for vaccine production. It was decided to appoint a focal person by both sides for faster progress.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Secretary (Technical), Director General (Extension), Director Bread Improvement, Director Board of Investment and Director Royal Biotechnology Dr. Qaiser.
