Chinese Consul General Sun Yan called on Minister for Livestock Punjab
Chinese Consul General Sun Yan visited Agriculture House Lahore. An important meeting was held with Minister for Livestock and Agriculture Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani. They discussed investment, mutual cooperation and promotion of modern technology in the livestock sector.
The provincial minister for Livestock said that through Kisan Card and Livestock Card, the financial difficulties of farmers are being reduced. They are being made economically stable. The Chinese Chinese Consul General was also informed about the vast potential and investment opportunities in the livestock sector.
Briefing for the Chinese Consul General
On this occasion, Secretary Livestock Ahmed Aziz Tarar gave a briefing about the successful disease control compartment established under the ongoing pilot project in cooperation between Pakistan and China, which is an important project of Royal Group China.

The provincial minister welcomed the Chinese delegation for their interest in value addition and investment in the dairy and meat sectors. He said that Pakistan is already exporting boiled meat and steps are also being taken to promote the export of frozen meat. Furthermore, 4 Agri Malls have been established for the convenience of farmers. Moreover, work is underway to establish 8 compartments for animals protected from foot-and-mouth disease in the livestock sector, which will enable disease control and increase exports.
The Chinese Consul General and delegation showed special interest in breed improvement and genomics. Additional Secretary Technical Dr. Usman Tahir and Director General Research Dr. Sajjad Hussain along with other officers of the Livestock and Dairy Development Department Punjab were also present on the occasion.
