The government wants reduction in chicken price, stakeholders assured cooperation
Minister Livestock Punjab Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani met with poultry stakeholders and representatives in Lahore. This meeting was on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Moreover, Provincial Food Minister Bilal Yasin also joined the meeting. This meeting was regarding chicken price control. Furthermore, the meeting reviewed the supply chain and price of chicken. However, stakeholders considered various options regarding the mechanism for fixing the price of chicken.
Secretary Livestock Punjab said in the briefing that in the last 10 days, the trend of increasing the price of chicken up to 200 rupees has been seen.

Chicken Price and Associations
The representatives of the Poultry Association discussed their problems and concerns. On the other hand, the Provincial Minister of Livestock assured to resolve the legitimate issues of the Poultry Association on a priority basis. Poultry stakeholders and representatives also assured the Provincial Livestock Minister to bring the chicken price to Rs 600 per kg in the next two days.
The Provincial Livestock Minister said that the priority of the Chief Minister Punjab is to give relief to the public. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz wants the chicken price to be determined in consultation with all stakeholders. The government wants chicken to be cheap so that the common man can buy it. He said that the current rate of chicken is high and should be reduced, and the government will facilitate the poultry industry.
