Status of Artificial Insemination in Camel in Pakistan
There are large number of camels in Pakistan, of which there are different types. Some of these types have excellent production capacity. To improve the productivity of any breed, it is necessary to obtain better breed animals than animals with high capacity. Although the traditional method is available in many places, it is possible to mate with this animal at one time. On the other hand, if a female of a high breed animal is obtained, then a better breed of animals can be obtained on a large scale through artificial insemination. This method is common in cattle and buffaloes in Pakistan, where people obtain the next generation by selecting the female according to their wishes.
Experiment on Artificial Insemination in Camel
In this regard, straws were filled by going through various stages of processing in the laboratory. According to experts, they transferred this semen to the Camel Breeding and Research Station Livestock and Dairy Development Punjab.
Dr. Zafar Iqbal Qureshi, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, said that our team has prepared the semen and achieved success in it.
According to experts from the University of Agriculture, artificial insemination in camels is a difficult task, in which the most complex problem is in obtaining semen artificially from the semen. Camels are a bit stubborn in terms of breeding and may refuse to experiment with any artificial material. Along with this, the animal may face many problems due to the lab stages and pilots.
Successful Artificial Insemination in Camel
Dr. Muhammad Salman Waqas, said that our team has achieved this success after many failed attempts during the last five years. He thanked the entire team and all the concerned people for this success. He congratulated the experts of the Agricultural University and Livestock Punjab .
He expressed satisfaction at the completion of half the period. He said that the pregnancy of this camel through artificial insemination will come as a milestone in breeding in the coming period.
Dr. Zafar Qureshi said that artificial insemination of camels requires special training and expertise, which he acquired and worked on as a consultant in research projects and artificial insemination projects. He thanked the scientists who performed all over the world for this success. He congratulated the experts of the Agricultural University and Livestock Department and said that their achievement will become a research guide for the next generation of scientists in the world and will make Pakistan famous in this field.
