Meeting to Boost Agricultural and Livestock Exports to Tajikistan at Embassy
Pakistan has taken an important step toward expanding its agricultural and livestock exports to Tajikistan. It will open new opportunities for farmers, feed manufacturers, meat exporters, dairy producers, and agribusinesses looking to enter Central Asian markets. A meeting about Agricultural exports, meat exports, animal feed exports and dairy products export held at the Embassy of Tajikistan.
A delegation from the Livestock and Agriculture Cooperative Corporation (LACC), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the Livestock Farmers Welfare Association (LFWA) met with Tajikistan officials. However, this high-level meeting with officials held at the Embassy of Tajikistan in Islamabad. They discussed bilateral trade, investment, and long-term cooperation in the agriculture and livestock sectors.

The Pakistani delegation was led by Mujahid Shah, Executive Director of the Livestock and Agriculture Cooperative Corporation, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was accompanied by Muhammad Asif Awan, President of the Livestock Farmers Welfare Association, Hayat Ullah of Zain Dairy, and Dr. Inam Ullah.

The delegation met with Maroof Abdul Rahman, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Tajikistan. Both sides explored ways to strengthen bilateral trade and encourage greater collaboration between the private sectors of Pakistan and Tajikistan.

Furthermore, the meeting focused on identifying practical opportunities to increase agricultural and livestock exports to Tajikistan. However, it will establish a long-term framework for trade cooperation.

- Poultry feed
- Fish feed
- Halal meat
- Silage
- Animal nutrition products

Participants agreed that Pakistan possesses significant production capacity in these sectors and can become a reliable supplier to Tajikistan and other Central Asian countries.

Proposed MoU for Agricultural and Livestock exports to Tajikistan
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the presentation of an initial draft of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the Livestock and Agriculture Cooperative Corporation, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The proposed MoU will create a structured and sustainable partnership between Pakistan and Tajikistan in the livestock and agriculture sectors. First, it will support bilateral trade between the two countries and expand livestock exports to Tajikistan. In addition, it will help increase exports of livestock, dairy, animal feed, meat, and agricultural products. The agreement will also encourage investment and strengthen cooperation between government institutions and the private sector. As a result, both countries can expand trade and build long-term business partnerships.
Importantly, the draft agreement will be finalized after consultations with the relevant authorities in both countries.

Speaking during the meeting, Mujahid Shah said the proposed cooperation will create new opportunities for Pakistani farmers, livestock producers, feed manufacturers, meat exporters, dairy companies, and agricultural businesses. First, it will improve access to Central Asian markets, especially Tajikistan. As a result, Pakistan can expand its export network. In addition, the initiative will strengthen the livestock and animal feed sectors. It will also increase export earnings and support rural economic growth. Moreover, expanding regional trade will benefit businesses across the country. At the same time, it will create sustainable export markets for Pakistani products. Consequently, farmers will earn better incomes and gain long-term business opportunities.

Muhammad Asif Awan, President of the Livestock Farmers Welfare Association, highlighted Pakistan’s substantial production capacity in livestock, quality animal feed, meat, dairy products, and agricultural commodities.
He emphasized that connecting these industries with regional markets would significantly increase export volumes while creating better income opportunities for farmers, processors, and agribusinesses across the country.

Tajikistan Welcomes the Initiative
Deputy Head of Mission Maroof Abdul Rahman welcomed the initiative and acknowledged the significant untapped potential for expanding trade between Pakistan and Tajikistan.
He noted that agriculture, livestock, animal feed, halal meat, dairy products, and food commodities offer excellent opportunities for bilateral cooperation. He expressed confidence that stronger engagement between the public and private sectors of both countries would further strengthen economic relations.

The meeting reflects the growing commitment of Pakistan and Tajikistan to deepen economic cooperation through agriculture and livestock trade.
If finalized, the proposed MoU is expected to provide a solid foundation for increasing exports, attracting investment, improving market access, and building long-term partnerships between businesses in both countries.
