Minister Livestock Punjab visited GCLI Projects
Provincial Minister for Livestock Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani visited the sexed semen lab, semen production unit, and other projects of the Green Corporate Livestock Initiative (GCLI). Secretary Livestock Ahmed Aziz Tarar, Commandant CEBG Brigadier Muhammad Ali Raza, Colonel Abdul Rehman Qureshi, and other officers were also present on the occasion. The Provincial Minister for Livestock also had a meeting with the Chairman of the Green Corporate Livestock Initiative (GCLI) Major General (retd) Shahid Mahmood.
Initiatives of GCLI and Sexed Semen Lab
Major General (retd) Shahid Mahmood said that the Green Corporate Livestock Initiative is taking special steps for the development of the livestock sector and farmers in Pakistan. The aim of establishing this lab is to provide sexed semen to the common farmers at a very reasonable price. This lab has been established keeping in mind the modern requirements of genetic improvement and breeding of cattle, which will help in increasing milk and meat production.

He further said that for this purpose, bulls of Brahman, Friesian, Gazira, Girolando, and Vague breeds have been imported from Brazil and other countries. High-quality sexed semen is also being provided for local breeds of cattle.
On this occasion, the Provincial Minister for Livestock Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani was given a detailed inspection of various departments of the Sex Sorted Semen Lab equipped with the latest technology, established in the institution. He also visited Fongrow and Daizy Farms. Appreciating the technical capabilities of the institution, the Provincial Minister said that such modern projects will prove to be a milestone for the development of the livestock sector in the province and the economic prosperity of the farmers.
