Pakistan Animal Scientists’ Welfare Association – PASA Cabinet 2025-28 constituted

The cabinet of the Pakistan Animal Scientists’ Welfare Association (PASA) for 2025-28 has been formed. The newly elected office bearers took oath at the 11th meeting of PASA. Dean, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qamar Bilal took the oath for PASA Cabinet. On this occasion, the services of Dr. Kashif Ishaq (Election Commissioner) were appreciated for conducting transparent and fair elections.

PASA Cabinet

According to the details, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younis will serve as President, Dr. Nasir Mukhtar, Senior Vice President, Dr. Akbar Ali Swati, and Dr. Arshad Mahmood will serve as Vice Presidents, while Dr. Zahid Iqbal Babar will serve as General Secretary. Qamaruddin Usman will serve as Joint Secretary, Shahid Rasool as Finance Secretary, Gulfam Younis as Press and Information Secretary, and Ghulam Abbas as AI Linkage Secretary are part of the cabinet. Dr. Javed Irshad Rana has been nominated as Patron of the Pakistan Animal Scientists’ Welfare Association.

PASA Executive Committee and Technical Committee

The Executive Committee included cabinet members as well as experts and representatives from all provinces and regions, including Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Punjab. The Executive Committee members include Prof. Dr. Tanveer Ahmed, Prof. Dr. Qamar Bilal, Dr. Kamran Khan, Dr. Maqsood Akhtar, Dr. Munawar Ali Rajput, Dr. Irfan Shahzad, Dr. Muhammad Ijaz Khan, Dr. Muhammad Ishtiaq, Dr. Faisal Shahid, Dr. Naveed Anjum, Mian Sohaib Javed, and Dr. Javed Warraich.

Along with the Executive Committee, PASA also formed a Technical Committee, with Dr. Muqarrab Ali Khan as its Convener and Dr. Muhammad Yousuf as its Co-Convenor. The Committee members include Dr. Masroor Elahi Babar, Dr. Muhammad Riaz Wark, Dr. Khalid Farooq, Dr. Waseem Abbas, Dr. Faraz Anwar, Dr. Jamil Akbar, Dr. Imran Babar, and Dr. Iftikhar Mashhadi.

Working Groups

The Association has also formed committees and working groups for various sectors. The Animal Breeding and Genetics Group includes Professor Dr. Saif-ur-Rehman, Dr. Farooq Khalid, and Dr. Khalid Bashir; the Production and Management Group includes Dr. Qamar Bilal, Dr. Mehboob Ali Hamid, and Umar Hayat Gondal; the Poultry Science Group includes Dr. Nasir Mukhtar and Dr. Fawad Ahmed; the Nutrition and Feeds Group includes Dr. Tanveer Ahmed, Dr. Safdar Hassan, Dr. Muhammad Amir, and Dr. Umar; the Livestock Extension and Marketing Group includes Dr. Ghulam Abbas, Dr. Faraz Anwar, and Muhammad Basil; and the Women’s Wing includes Umm Kulthum and Maryam Bibi.

Decisions at Executive Committee Meeting

Several important decisions were also taken in the Pakistan Animal Scientists Welfare Association meeting. It was agreed that PASA will hold meetings monthly or as needed to hear the problems of the members and find effective solutions. The membership drive has been restarted, which also includes associate membership. Furthermore, PASA has decided to increase its digital presence. Regular updates will be released on the website and social media. Further press releases will be published after formal approval, while the appointment of a graphic designer was also considered. The use of email, website, and WhatsApp will be promoted for organizational communication. The meeting congratulated the newly elected office bearers.
