
JICA Project Meeting at Livestock Department Punjab
In a major initiative to address malnutrition and increase protein production, Punjab Livestock Department has collaborated with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on “Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Advisory Project”. A meeting was held to discuss the details of this JICA Project. Additional Secretary Technical Dr Usman Tahir, Director Planning Dr Atia Bukhari, and other representatives from both sides attended the meeting.
The project focuses on poultry farming at home to meet nutritional needs and increase protein production. The JICA team presented an overview of the project and appreciated the cooperation of the Livestock Department. The project will improve the lives of farmers and help in the overall development of the livestock sector of Punjab. Dr Usman Tahir said that the Livestock Department is active in addressing malnutrition. Domestic poultry farming is playing a vital role in addressing malnutrition.
