Poultry Research Institute Rawalpindi observed World Egg Day
A seminar was organized at the Poultry Research Institute Rawalpindi on the occasion of World Egg Day 2024. Mian Mohammad Aslam, Saad Sadiq, Dr. Hasan Sarosh Akram, Khalid Salim Malik, Dr. Khalid Naeem Khawaja and others from the poultry industry participated in the event. Former Director of PRI Rawalpindi Dr. Abdul Rehman and Secretary General of Pakistan Poultry Association Gul Aziz also participated in the event.
Director of Poultry Research Institute Dr. Sarfaraz Ahmed Chatta welcomed the participants. He said that the poultry sector is playing an important role in eliminating malnutrition in the country. Pakistan is at par with most developing countries in the world in terms of egg production. Public and private sector collaboration can not only make the availability of poultry products possible but also earn a lot of foreign exchange from exports.

Experts’ Opinion on World Egg Day 2024
On this occasion, the speakers discussed the natural benefits of eggs and their inclusion in daily diet. Experts said that eggs can be used at any age and in any season without fear. Mian Mohammad Aslam, Saad Sadiq, and Dr. Hasan Saroosh appreciated the services of the Poultry Research Institute on this occasion. He emphasized that there is a need to create awareness among the public about the nutritional value and usefulness of eggs. A wide awareness campaign will have to be conducted for this.
World Egg Day History and Theme; Egg Nutrition and Benefits
An egg cooking competition was also organized in the event and prizes were distributed among the winners. A symbolic walk was organized on this occasion and eggs were distributed among the people along with pamphlets regarding the benefits of eggs.
