The government of Punjab has started Livestock Projects 2024 under the Chief Minister Initiatives. The budget for these livestock schemes is around 17 billion. These livestock development schemes also include interest-free livestock loan scheme through livestock cards. Moreover, animal distribution, provision of more mobile veterinary dispensaries, and strengthening of services are also included in these livestock development projects. The Livestock Department has established Help Desks.

Livestock Projects 2024 – Livestock Card

Chief Minister Punjab Livestock Card is the provision of interest-free loans. The budget for this project is more than 4 billion rupees. Through this livestock scheme, farmers can purchase fodder, wanda or mineral mixture, semen, and other inputs. Farmers will be eligible for re-loan after repayment of the loan like a bank credit card

Other Livestock Projects 2024

Assets of more than 2 billion rupees will be transferred to Widowed and Divorced women. This project aims to improve their lifestyle. This project is for South Punjab.

These Livestock projects 2024 also include improving semen production units for 24 crore rupees. Moreover, the Government will spend 15 crore rupees to improve service delivery through the provision of modern ultrasound machines at the entire tehsil level.

Livestock schemes also include the distribution of goats and rams for Rs 50 crore. This will improve the breeds of sheep and goat. The government will spend Rs 27 crore for the improvement of vaccine production units. Rs 7.5 billion has been reserved for the establishment of cost-effective disease-free zones. Furthermore, government will purchase 20 mobile veterinary dispensaries at a cost of Rs 20 crore.

Help Desk for Livestock Development Schemes

The department says that these livestock projects 2024 will not only improve the livestock sector but will also have a positive impact on the country’s economy. Minister for Livestock Punjab chaired a meeting regarding these livestock schemes. He emphasized the CM has a special interest in these projects. Government will not tolerate any negligence in the implementation process. On the other hand, Livestock Department has established Held Desk at veterinary hospitals and dispensaries for the guidance of farmers.
