جنوبی ایشیاء اور جنوب مشرقی ایشیاء میں مستحکم لائیوسٹاک، نیپال میں مشاورتی ورکشاپ کا انعقاد؛ ڈاکٹرعاصم فراز کی شرکت

Dr. Asim Faraz attended a regional consultation workshop in Nepal. Workshop was on “Livestock Sustainability in South and Southeast Asia”. Besides FAO, International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) also collaborated. The objective of the workshop was to deepen the understanding of the key drivers affecting regional livestock production. The objective was also to develop practical solutions through Multi Stakeholder Partnerships (MSPs). This was in aligned with Global Agenda for Sustainable Livestock (GASL). In addition to this, experts also focused on International Year of Rangelands and pastoralists 2026.

Dr. Asim, actively participated in this workshop on Sustainable Livestock organized by ICIMOD and FAO. Furthermore, he was also the part of the panel discussion. Besides other points, experts also discussed policy drivers identifiers and policy interventions for conventional livestock. This was in context of International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists 2026.

On the other hand, Dr. Asim also talked about the role of camels in food security. In addition to this, he focused on the importance of camels in rangelands and deserts. Furthermore, he also highlighted the genetic potential of the camels of Pakistan.

Dr. Asim also proposed some points about the Camels and Yak. He highlighted the usage camel and yak in marginalized rangelands, mountains and deserts. Besides food security, he also linked it with a changing climate. On the other hand, he also highlighted its importance, especially, for the International Year of Rangelands and pastoralists 2026. United Nations has declared this year.

Besides other activities, Dr Asim Faraz also decorated the organizers with cultural gifts (Ajrak) from Pakistan.
