These views were expressed by Secretary Livestock Punjab Capt (R) Saqib Zafar on the occasion of the successful birth of calves in Sahiwal cows with the help of embryo transfer technology at Livestock Production Research Institute Bahadur Nagar Okara in collaboration with University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore.
Livestock Production Research Institute Bahadur Nagar Okara, a subsidiary of the Department of Livestock and Dairy Development Punjab, and University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore were working on this modern breeding technology with the joint collaboration of experts. As a result of this effort, three cows gave birth to healthy and vigorous calves, out of which one cow gave birth to twin calves. This success is a milestone in the production history of Sahiwal breed cows. Secretary Livestock Captain (retd) Saqib Zafar appreciated the tireless work of the experts of the Livestock Department and the scientists of the Veterinary University.
