Workshop on Animal Welfare organized by Brooke and PGGA
Animal welfare and protection from cruelty are among the priorities of the Livestock Department. This was stated by Punjab Livestock Minister Sardar Hasnain Bahadur Daresh while presiding over a workshop organized for animal welfare. According to the details, this workshop was organized in collaboration with Girl Guides Association and Brook Pakistan with the aim of spreading awareness about the social welfare of animals.
Addressing the participants, Livestock Minister Sardar Hasnain Bahadur Daresh said that animal welfare and related issues are among the priorities, rather to better implement this important topic, it has been made part of the Punjab Livestock Policy. He further said that this policy will point the right direction regarding animal cruelty. He appreciated the role of Pakistan Girl Guides Association and Brook Pakistan on this occasion and said that such training and workshop awareness sessions are of great importance for animal protection and social rights, which will create awareness among the public about animal protection.
He was accompanied by Minister for Livestock Sardar Hasnain Bahadur Dareshk, Begum Governor Parveen Sarwar, President Pakistan Girl Guides Association, Director General Rescue 1122, Parliamentarians, Syed Naeem Abbas from Brook Pakistan and representatives of international animal rights organizations in the closing ceremony. He assured his full support for the promotion of animal rights.
