President of Veterinary Doctors Association called on Secretary Livestock Punjab

President of Veterinary Doctors Association Dr. Akbar Ali Chaudhry held called on Secretary Livestock Punjab Saqib Ali Ateel. Dr. Akbar Ali Chaudhry apprised the Secretary Livestock of the problems faced by the field veterinary officers and appealed for their cooperation.

The Secretary Livestock said that along with the ongoing development works in the department, steps have been taken to meet the basic needs of field vets, especially promotion and training. He said that training of grade 17 and 18 officers has started from April 21. In the coming days, batch-wise trainings are also being started for the remaining officers with the support of MPDD, from which a large number of officers will benefit. The aim of these trainings is to enhance the capabilities of the officers and their professional development. Funds have also been provided for this purpose.

He further said that even in this period of uncertainty, the Livestock Department has approved 615 new posts for veterinary and para-veterinary staff, which will provide employment opportunities to the newly arrived professionals.

The Secretary Livestock said that their aim is to equip the department with modern facilities, and they have been working on this for a long time. Ultrasound machines have been provided at the tehsil level, and training of tehsil officers for its use has also started. X-ray machines and other surgical equipment will also be provided soon, while tehsil headquarters hospitals will also be equipped with other modern facilities. With these facilities, the staff of the Livestock Department will be able to provide better services, and its fruits will reach the livestock farmers.

Secretary Livestock Punjab Saqib Ali Ateel appreciated the hard work and dedication of the field vets regarding the ongoing development schemes and uploading of field activities on 9211.
