Uzbek Delegation visited Pakistan, met with the Secretary of Livestock
A high-level Uzbek delegation from the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan, led by Governor Mirzave, held an important meeting with Secretary Livestock Punjab Ahmed Aziz Tarar and Secretary Agriculture Iftikhar Ali Sahoo.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, Tukhtaev Alisher Khakimovich, and Deputy Governor for Trade, Industry and Investment Mr. Sharipov. Additional Secretary (Technical) Dr. Usman Tahir, along with Director Generals and other officials, also participated in the session.
The main objective of the meeting with Uzbek delegationwas to discuss bilateral cooperation, trade, and investment opportunities between Pakistan and Uzbekistan in the livestock and agriculture sectors. The Uzbek delegation expressed special interest in investing in Pakistan’s livestock sector, particularly emphasizing opportunities in meat exports and the leather industry. They also showed interest in collaboration in genomics and breed improvement.

During the meeting, both sides also discussed a proposal to establish a Pakistan Logistics Center in Uzbekistan and an Uzbekistan Logistics Center in Pakistan. This initiative is expected to facilitate trade in livestock and agricultural products and further strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Livestock Punjab Ahmed Aziz Tarar said that the livestock sector holds immense potential, and through mutual collaboration, new opportunities for trade and investment between Pakistan and Uzbekistan can be created.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Secretary Livestock and Secretary Agriculture presented souvenirs to the members of the Uzbek delegation.
