A five-day Biorisk Management Training was organized by the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Islamia University of Bahawalpur and the Association for Biorisk Management in collaboration with Health Security Partners. The training was held at the Khawaja Ghulam Farid Auditorium, Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The practical sessions of the training were held at the Virology and Bacteriology Laboratories of the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences.

The concluding session was chaired by the Dean, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Professor Dr. Khalid Mansoor. He stressed the importance of effectively managing the risks associated with biological agents. He also highlighted the importance of collective efforts to prevent outbreaks and protect public health.

Professor Dr. Khalid Mansoor appreciated the efforts of Dr. Mian Khabib Sattar, Dr. Azhar Aslam, Dr. Mudassar Mohiuddin and the Microbiology Department for organizing the successful training. The training was organized under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Association for Biorisk Management regarding the implementation of biorisk management strategies in the university.Faculty members, undergraduate and postgraduate research students and laboratory staff participated in the training

During the training, Dr. Inayatullah, Dr. Zakir Hussain, Dr. Waqar Ahmed, Halima Noor and other trainers covered topics such as biorisk assessment, laboratory-acquired infections, biosafety levels, biosecurity, PPE protocols, emergency management, good lab practices, disinfection, biological waste management and other topics.

Certificates and souvenirs were distributed among the participants, trainers and organizers at the closing ceremony of the training.
