CDFA issued Three Days Sickness in Dairy Animals outbreak alert for Dairy Farms. Bovine Ephemeral Fever symptoms include sever fever with weakness, increased respiration, decreased production, lameness, off feed and inability to stand. Furthermore, these symptoms remains for three days normally. Due to this reason, experts call it 3 day cow sickness. Moreover, virus of this disease spreads through flies and mosquitos etc. Treatment of 3 day sickness in cattle is possible. UVAS recommend to use NSAIDs and antibiotics for secondary infection. Moreover, Vet should use selenium and vitamin E to boost immunity. On the other hand, Ephemeral Fever Vaccine is also available.

Imported cows are more prone to this disease. In case of outbreak, farmers should include vitamin E, C, Calcium and Selenium. Moreover, farmers should avoid overcrowding and try to reduce stress. Besides, they should arrange vaccine and take measures to control flies and mosquitos.
