A committee has been formed under the chairmanship of former Secretary Livestock Naseem Sadiq to prepare a plan for the improvement of the livestock sector across Pakistan. The committee has representation from the livestock sector across Pakistan. It will consider livestock market development, formation of the fisheries sector, improvement of the poultry sector, solutions to the problems of medium and large-scale dairy farmers, and animal breeding programs for small livestock farmers.
Under the Prime Minister’s 100-day plan, recommendations will be prepared and implemented. According to the details, the former Secretary Livestock met Prime Minister Imran Khan in which Naseem Sadiq informed the Prime Minister about the development of the livestock sector and the problems faced. On this occasion, the former Secretary Livestock was made the Chairman of the Livestock Emergency Reforms Group. The newly formed group will work towards improving the livestock sector at the national level.
This group will include the Director Generals of Livestock from all provinces, heads of private groups and associations. This group will work in seven major sectors of livestock and in a phased manner, this group will hold meetings across the country in its own order and will prepare and implement reports within 100 days according to the Prime Minister’s agenda.
The first meeting in this regard will be held today, which will be chaired by former Secretary Livestock Naseem Sadiq. In addition to farmers, leather industrialists, people associated with the milk, egg, poultry and meat businesses, chancellors of various universities will also participate in this meeting, in which it will be decided how to strengthen the livestock sector.
