PoulShot IBD Win+ is an Intermediate Plus live vaccine by CAVAC (Choong Ang Vaccine Laboratories Co. Ltd). This IBD Vaccine has been developed to protect poultry against Infectious Bursal Disease (IBD) while overcoming higher maternal antibody levels. It contains Winterfield 2512 strain.
Gumboro Disease is a major challenge for poultry producers, particularly in areas where high levels of maternal antibodies can interfere with vaccination. To address this challenge, intermediate-plus vaccine is recommended that provides stronger immune stimulation.
Features of PoulShot IBD Win+
This IBD vaccine contains the Winterfield 2512 strain and provides effective protection against field IBD virus challenges. It supports immune system development while minimizing vaccine-related reactions.
Infectious Bursal Disease
Infectious Bursal Disease attacks the bursa of Fabricius, an important immune organ in young chickens. The disease weakens the immune system and increases susceptibility to secondary infections. Birds affected by Gumboro Disease suffer from poor growth, reduced feed efficiency, immune suppression, and mortality.
Why Intermediate Plus Vaccines are Important
Many commercial flocks receive maternal antibodies from vaccinated breeder hens. While these antibodies provide early protection, they can sometimes reduce the effectiveness of mild vaccines. IBD Win+ is developed to overcome these maternal antibodies and establish stronger immunity.
Benefits of PoulShot IBD Win+
The vaccine provides stronger protection in areas with high disease pressure. It reduces the risk of clinical Gumboro outbreaks and supports better flock health and productivity.
Administration and Use
IBD Win+ is administered through drinking water and can be incorporated into standard broiler, layer, and breeder vaccination programs.
Dissolve 1,000 doses of the vaccine in 10 liters of water during cool weather or 15 liters of water during hot weather. For improved vaccine stability and efficacy, 0.2% skimmed milk may be added to the drinking water.
- Broilers: Vaccinate once at 7–14 days of age through drinking water.
- Layers and Breeders: Vaccinate twice through drinking water, with the first dose at 7–14 days of age and a booster dose at 10–12 weeks of age.
Use clean, chlorine-free water and ensure uniform consumption of the vaccine by all birds.
