No Lumpy Skin Disease in Human
In a statement issued by Animal Husbandry Commissioner of Pakistan, Dr. Muhammad Akram, it has been clarified that Lumpy Skin Disease is not a human disease. There is no fear of the disease spreading from animals to humans. He says that the World Organization for Animal Health has clear instructions regarding this disease that this disease cannot be transmitted from animals to humans. The virus of this disease only affects cows. Along with this, it has also been clarified that there is no risk of humans contracting this disease through the consumption of meat and milk of infected animals.
In this regard, an alert has also been issued by the Department of Infection Prevention and Hospital Epidemiology of Aga Khan University Hospital Karachi. Experts from the Aga Khan University have clarified that Lumpy Skin Disease is a disease of cows and there is no clear evidence of transmission from cows to humans. The disease does not spread to humans by eating animal milk and meat.

Dr. Nosheen Nasir, an infectious diseases expert from the Aga Khan University Hospital, says that there are no reports of the disease being transmitted to humans yet. Dr. Nosheen says that cooked meat can be eaten and boiled milk can be drunk.
The disease does not pose a threat to humans. It was further said that the meat of an infected animal can be used after separating the affected part.
It should be noted that previously, the Sindh Livestock Department, Punjab Livestock Department and the livestock departments of other provinces have also issued clear messages that there is no threat to humans from Lumpy Skin Disease, a disease of cows, and their milk and meat are also safe.
