It has been named ‘Dickinsonia’, which was oval like an egg and its circumference was about one and a half meters. It is estimated that it was living happily on Earth for 20 million years before the “Cambrian Period”, when a large number of new organisms were born on Earth. It should be noted that due to the rapid emergence of new organisms in the Cambrian Period, this period is also called the “Cambrian Explosion”.

PhD scholar Ilya Bobrovsky, who is researching it, says that this fossil was found near the Black Sea in northwest Russia. It is in such good condition that traces of fats and cholesterol molecules can also be seen on it. For the past 75 years, experts have debated whether Dickinsonia was a giant amoeba or a complex organism. But this ancient fossil has solved the mystery and is now considered the world’s oldest animal.
