MOU on Advanced Breeding Technologies signed between Vitagene Farms and CUVAS Bahawalpur
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Vitagene Farms and Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS Bahawalpur) to promote joint research cooperation in advanced breeding technologies, reproductive biotechnology, and especially embryo production.
The MoU was signed by Vice Chancellor Cholistan Veterinary University Prof. Dr. Mazhar Ayaz and Chief Operating Officer VitaGene Farms Dr. Haider Ali Tahir. Dean Faculty of Animal Production and Technology Prof. Dr. Faiz-ul- Hassan, Dr. Amna Haider, Muhammad Yasin Akhtar, Adiba Qayyum, and others were also present on the occasion.
The participants described this development as a major milestone in the field of livestock breeding and reproduction in Pakistan.
Details of MOU on Advanced Breeding Technologies
Under the agreement, both institutions will work on establishing a modern IVF laboratory and improving the semen production unit, among other aspects. Along with this, practical training will be provided to students and faculty members in IVF, embryo transfer technology and modern reproductive technologies. Furthermore, joint research projects will be undertaken in the fields of reproduction, breeding, and genetics. This partnership will not only help in popularizing modern technologies in Pakistan but will also play a fundamental role in effectively transferring them in the coming years.
Under the agreement, special attention will be paid to the genetic improvement and embryo production of Cholistani cows. Further, both institutions will also launch various training programs for embryo production and embryo transfer.
