E-balloting held for free animal distribution among rural women under Livestock Asset Transfer Program – Phase 2
An e-balloting ceremony for Phase Two of the Chief Minister Punjab Rural Women Livestock Asset Transfer Program was held at the Livestock Complex, Lahore. During the event, e-balloting for applications received from rural women of South Punjab for free animal distribution was completed through a transparent, fair, and technology-driven process.
The ceremony was presided over by Punjab Minister for Livestock, Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani. Secretary Livestock Punjab, Ahmed Aziz Tarar, Additional Secretary (Technical) Dr. Usman Tahir, and other officials were also present. The provincial minister described the e-balloting process as a practical demonstration of transparency, merit, and modern technology.

Livestock Asset Transfer Program – Phase 2
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the selection of eligible rural women was carried out through e-balloting by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to ensure complete transparency without any interference. He added that under this project, livestock assets worth Rs. 2 billion are being provided to rural women of South Punjab, with the aim of promoting women’s economic empowerment and strengthening the rural economy.
It was further shared that the project spans 24 months, from fiscal year 2024 to 2026, and benefits rural women from 12 districts of South Punjab. Under the scheme, cows and buffaloes are being provided to widowed and divorced women. The age limit is set at 55 years, with a PMT score of 32.
E-balloting Phase 2
Under Phase Two, e-balloting was conducted for 128,562 applications, while 4,870 selected women will be provided animals of Sahiwal, Cholistani, Nili Ravi, and Kundi breeds. According to the project rules, there will be a one-year restriction on the sale of animals, and monitoring and follow-up will be ensured for 12 months after distribution.

During the ceremony, the provincial minister personally called some of the successful women to congratulate them. The selected women expressed happiness and gratitude and thanked the Government of Punjab and the Livestock Department.
In conclusion, the provincial minister congratulated all successful women and reaffirmed the commitment of the Punjab government to continue such welfare initiatives in the future for economic uplift, self-employment, and sustainable development of rural women.
