Peace be upon you! Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association is a welfare body whose aim is to work in the larger interest of the Dairy and Cattle Farmers of Pakistan irrespective of colour, caste and any kind of religious discrimination, hatred and politics. The said association is trying to solve the problems of the farmers especially of Karachi because our commitment is “Prosperous Farmer, Prosperous Pakistan”.
It is said that the buffalo colony Landhi Karachi has been established since 1965 and has the largest population of animals in the whole of Asia. Your Highness! This buffalo colony with 4 lakh buffaloes and cows also supplies milk and meat to Karachi. The association writes to all the relevant institutions about many problems here from time to time, in which one issue is about the delivery of oil made from dead animals and their carcasses to the city.
Your Highness! As the delivery of meat of dead animals is a major serious problem and is always going on with the connivance of the police, there are 15 to 20 of some cows and buffaloes daily which can be done by the farmers emergency slaughter (Halal) but the slaughter house is also closed 3 days a week so it is made into meat in any private slaughter house and sold by the butchers in the city and it is under the jurisdiction of the KMC Veterinary Department.
Your Highness! Emergency slaughtering was forcibly stopped by SHO Sukhan in buffalo colony from 11th October 2019 due to which the farmers have lost about 5 million rupees in 3 days so far and dairy farmers have come to the office of DGFIA Pakistan to complain about the action of the police that the butchers are not picking up these buffaloes.
So a regular system should be made so that the farmers can avoid the loss and if it does not come under the jurisdiction of the police, legal and disciplinary and departmental action should be taken against the Sukhan police and other officials according to the law and the daily loss of the dairy farmers should be redressed and the delegation of the association should be given time to meet.
