Milk Sellers Rejected KPK Food Authority Milk Test Report
DCFA KPK has rejected the Milk Test Report of the KPK Food Authority. Dairy Farmers and Milk Sellers staged a protest at Daudzai Press Club. Furthermore, farmers and Milk sellers declared this report an organized effort to promote packaged milk. Authority is defaming the fresh milk market allegedly, they said.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority surveyed milk. 26 teams collected samples in different divisions over ten days. According to media reports, 93% of samples were substandard. Out of 583 samples, 541 had adulteration.

417 samples contain water, 106 glucose, 17 formaldehyde, 224 fat deficiencies, and 488 samples contain protein and other mineral deficiencies. Dry Powder Milk was in 18.18 % Samples. 15.7% samples contained sucrose, 4.1% salt, 2.91 % formaldehyde, and 1.3% sorbitol.
94% of samples in Peshawar, 87% in Mardan, 88% in Kohat, 97% in Malakand, 84% in Hazara Division, and 100% in Bannu and D.I. Khan remained substandard.
On the other hand, DCFA said, this is an organized campaign against fresh milk. KPK Food Authority is being used for the promotion of packaged milk. The dairy sector is the backbone of the economy. Such campaigns will damage this sector. They said farmers will stage protests against such activities.
