Instructions issued to Field Formations on FMD Control in Punjab

The Secretary Livestock and Dairy Development Punjab has issued instructions to the field officers regarding the  Foot and Mouth Disease Control. All officers have been directed to take immediate steps by implementing the SOPs in case of an outbreak at any place for FMD Control.

The officers have been directed to make timely and accurate reporting and ring vaccination in the affected area. It has also been directed to ensure timely data uploading and reconciling for accuracy. Along with this, special instructions have also been given for the vaccination of animals registered under the livestock card against foot-and-mouth and other diseases. The officers have been directed to take care of the affected animals and conduct follow-up visits. Further, the Director General Extension and the Director General Research have been directed to hold a weekly joint meeting to review the situation and review the action plan.
