In this regard, the Food and Drug Administration declares products from animals that eat GMO feed safe for humans.

Genetic engineering is also widely used in pharmaceuticals. The biggest example of GMO medicine is insulin for diabetics, which was first produced through genetic engineering. BT cotton in Pakistan is also an example of GMO. On the other hand, GMO soybeans have also been allegedly being imported into Pakistan for many years, although there is no formal permission in this regard. GMO Soybean Regulation in Pakistan

In the context of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety, there is a National Biosafety Center under the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency to regulate GMO in Pakistan, while the Pakistan Biosafety Rules 2005 and National Biosafety Guidelines 2005 have also been approved for the regulation of GMO. Work is being done at different stages in the National Biosafety Center on various cases of GMO.
