GDI Appointed as Distributor of Gender Sorted Straws by GCLI
The Green Corporate Livestock Initiative (GCLI) has appointed Green Dairy Initiative Private Limited (GDI) as the exclusive distributor of gender sorted straws for the divisions of Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
This advanced technology allows farmers to choose the sex of the calf before artificial insemination. They can decide whether they want a female calf (heifer) or a male calf. The appointment of this distributor is an important step toward promoting modern, scientific, and efficient dairy farming in Pakistan. It will also help dairy farmers in South Punjab access improved breeding services and veterinary support.
MOU for Distribution of Gender Sorted Straws
An agreement was signed between Brigadier (R) Ehtesham Younas, Chief Executive Officer of GCLI, and Dr. Asim, Country Head of GDI. Director Livestock, Col (R) Abdul Rehman Qureshi, and other officials were also present at the signing ceremony.
Under this agreement, Green Dairy Initiative will ensure the supply of gender-sorted semen in the districts of Sahiwal, Okara, Pakpattan, Multan, Vehari, Khanewal, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, and Rajanpur.

Brigadier (R) Ehtesham Younas congratulated GDI and said that the districts of South Punjab are highly important for the livestock sector. Dairy and livestock farming are widely practiced in these areas. Through this collaboration, farmers will gain access to high genetic merit semen along with quality services and professional guidance.

On this occasion, Dr. Muhammad Asim, Country Head of Green Dairy Initiative, thanked Chairman GCLI Major General (R) Shahid Mahmood and CEO Brig (R) Ehtesham Younas. He said that it is an honor for his organization to begin this journey of serving farmers through the GCLI platform.
