Issues of Gawalas will be resolved , says secretary livestock to gawala association

Representatives of the guwalas from towns and tehsils across Lahore met with Secretary Livestock Nadeem Irshad Kiani, led by President Guwala Association Muhammad Ilyas Usman. Various issues of Gawalas regarding the availability of pasteurized milk were discussed in the meeting. During the meeting, the guwalas informed the Secretary Livestock about their problems.

The Secretary Livestock assured the guwalas of his full cooperation and said that he would personally meet the heads of the relevant departments regarding the cleanliness of guwala colonies and other issues. He guided the guwalas and directed that no effort should be spared in making the milk supply process transparent and safe for human health. On this occasion, the Secretary Livestock said that people associated with small-scale milk production can also set up pasteurization units.

The department will continue to provide full guidance and support for this purpose. On this occasion, the herders informed the Secretary Livestock about the prices and weight of cattle rations, to which the Secretary Livestock said that the Cattle Feed Act includes issues other than the price of feed, however, the department is regularly checking the weight of the feed sack and the ingredients included in the feed.
