Hatching Eggs Export | Saudi allows import of hatching eggs from Pakistan.
Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries have immediately resumed the import of hatching eggs from Pakistan. This hatching eggs export was banned on September 11, 2021. According to a press release issued by the Pakistan Poultry Association, this restoration was the result of the tireless efforts of the current and former senior executive committee members of the Pakistan Poultry Association.
In this context, the Chairman of the Pakistan Poultry Association, Dr. Sajjad Arshad, other executive committee members and the Patron-in-Chief of the Poultry Association, Khalil Sattar, maintained uninterrupted communication with the Animal Husbandry Commissioner and the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Pakistan.
The Chairman of the Pakistan Poultry Association, Dr. Sajjad Arshad, paid special tribute to the institution of the Animal Husbandry Commissioner for this achievement.
Dr. Sajjad Arshad says that 18 million hatching eggs were exported from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia from January 2021 to September 2021, earning an alternative foreign exchange of 9008 million Pakistani rupees.
The members of the Pakistan Poultry Association, while thanking the Animal Husbandry Commissioner’s Office of the Ministry of National Food Security and Research, said that positive progress has been made in Pakistan in legislating for quality testing of eggs and poultry at the federal level with the OIE to resolve the issue of ban on poultry products. The main reason for the ban on broiler chicken, hatching eggs and one-day-old chicks by the Livestock Wing of the Ministry of National Food Security and Research was the unavailability of the above law.
Due to the lack of a federal law on egg and chicken quality testing, Saudi Arabia had imposed a ban on the import of the above poultry products on September 11, 2021, citing a disease report of chickens in only one poultry farm in September 2021. The ban on hatching eggs export among these products has now been lifted.
Chairman Pakistan Poultry Association Dr. Sajjad Arshad urged government agencies that more efforts are needed to remove the ban on broiler chicken and day-old chicks from Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries. He said that this would not only make farmers happy but would also earn Pakistan a significant amount of foreign exchange.
