Dairy Feed Taxes will hit milk and meat production, DCFA Demands Decapping or Price Increase

DCFA Pakistan has demanded relief on the current tax on dairy feed. Shakir Umar Gujjar President Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association Pakistan briefed Media at Karachi Press Club. He said dairy feed taxes will increase the cost of production of milk and meat. It will affect the small farmers as well as corporate and commercial farmers. These dairy taxes will also affect the investment in the dairy sector of Pakistan. He has demanded an increase in milk price with a fresh notification. Moreover, he has demanded price decapping as a permanent solution.

Shahbaz Rasool Warrhaich, Islam Butt, and others also put the same demands in Lahore. Dairy Farmers said dairy taxes will directly hit the consumers. Moreover, the public will not be able to purchase milk for children. Furthermore, this will increase malnutrition and stunted growth. However, Dairy Farmers demanded to take serious steps regarding the tax on dairy feed.
