Cholistani Cattle Competition and Fair organized at Yazman

The Cholistani Cattle Competition and Fair was organized in Yazman by the Cholistani Cattle Association in collaboration with Dayzee Farms and Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Bahawalpur. Vice Chancellor Cholistan Veterinary University Prof. Dr. Mazhar Ayaz, former Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sajjad Khan, Managing Director Dayzee Farms Dr. Qaisar Shahzad, Brig Ehtesham Younas from Green Corporate Livestock Initiative (GCLI) and others attended the fair and highlighted the importance of Cholistani cow. Cholistani cow milk production and beauty competitions were organized on this occasion. A large number of local farmers and breeders also participated in the fair.

Cholistani Cattle Importance

While highlighting the importance of Cholistani Cow, addressing the ceremony, Ali Raza Randhawa said that the Cholistani cow is the best source of organic milk and meat. This cow, raised in the natural environment of Cholistan, has unique characteristics. Its milk and meat are famous for their unique taste and nutrition. By focusing on this cow, we can make a place for its products in the international market. He further said that the purpose of organizing this fair is to provide a platform to farmers and breeders where the productive potential of this breed can be highlighted. Prof Dr. Mazhar Ayaz and Prof Dr. Sajjad Khan appreciated the efforts of the Cholistani Cattle Association in organizing this fair and also highlighted the importance of Cholistani Cow.

Dayzee Farms Breed Improvement Projects

Dr. Qaiser Shahzad said on this occasion that the Cholistani cow is a cow with high characteristics. Dayzee Farms is working with breeders to breed the best-producing cows according to modern requirements. We are increasing and preserving the breed of the best cows with the help of embryo transfer technology.

He said that Dayzee Farms provides high-quality embryos and semen of Cholistani cows and animals of other breeds. More farmers and breeders can get ten to twenty calves from one cow in a year by getting the embryos of their valuable and high-quality animals. On this occasion, he also introduced the Buffalo Park project, which has investment opportunities. Farmers or investors will keep their buffaloes at Dayzee Farms. We will take care of them according to modern requirements and guarantee the purchase of milk at the best price. The farmer will be paid monthly after deducting the feeding and labor costs from the price of milk.

Cholistani Cattle Competition Results

In the Cholistani cow milk competition, Ali Raza Randhawa’s “Pyari” cow won first place by giving 36.470 kilograms of milk, Imtiaz Jaluka’s “Pari” cow won second place by giving 36.010 kilograms of milk, while Murad Bohar’s “Rani” cow won third place by giving 34.060 kilograms of milk. In the breeding bull beauty competition, Malik Fayyaz Bohar’s bull won first position. Ramzan Prahar’s bull got second position while Gul Thahim’s bull got third position. Shakeel Qasimka’s heifer won the Cholistani heifer beauty contest, while Sadiq Bhatti’s calf won the Cholistani calf beauty contest.
