Government Likely to Lift Ban on Live Animal Exports – Livestock Export
Serious consideration is being given to lifting the ban on live animal exports. This step will lift the live sheep export ban and ban on other livestock export. In this regard, the Executive Committee of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has agreed. According to a Dawn report, the matter was taken up by the SIFC’s executive committee and it was agreed to lift the ban on live animal exports. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates have expressed keen interest in investing in feedlot fattening in Pakistan. Further efforts are being made to increase investment through the platform of SIFC.
It is expected from the government circles that domestic and foreign investment in livestock farming will increase the livestock. Along with this, the situation of demand and supply of livestock has improved due to the control of smuggling and border fencing.
