Poultry Science Conference 2025 organized by UVAS, on the first day of IPEX 2025

7th Annual Poultry Science Conference was organized by the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore on the International Poultry Expo 2025. Pakistan Poultry Association. A large number of researchers and professionals presented their research work in the conference. Prof Amir Ghafoor Bajwa was the Chief Organizer, while Dr. Hanif Nazir Chaudhary was the Convener of the Conference from PPA. Inaugural Session of Poultry Science Conference 2025

Provincial Minister for Livestock Punjab Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani specially attended the opening ceremony of the conference. Vice Chancellor Veterinary University Lahore Prof Dr. Muhammad Younus, Chairman Pakistan Poultry Association Abdul Basit, Vice Chairman Malik Muhammad Sharif, Chief Organizer Expo Abdul Hai Mehta, Convener Conference Dr. Hanif Nazir Chaudhry, Chief Organizer Conference Professor Dr. Amir Ghafoor Bajwa, Prof Dr. Ali Ahmed Sheikh, Additional Secretary Livestock Dr. Usman Tahir, DG Research Dr. Sajjad Hussain and Dr. Shahzad Jadoon and other experts were also present on the occasion. Dr. FM Sabir, Khaleeq Arshad and others also graced the ceremony.

Details of International Poultry Expo 2025

Provincial Minister for Livestock Punjab Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani said that the government of Punjab is taking important steps for the development and stability of the poultry industry. The development of this sector is among the priorities of the government. He appreciated the role of the Veterinary University in the development of the livestock and poultry sector. Moreover, he said that this university has always provided scientific guidance to the poultry industry. He further said that under the leadership of Prof Dr. Rana Muhammad Younus, the Veterinary University has achieved significant achievements not only in the field of research but also in industrial collaboration.

Objectives of PSC 2025

The inaugural ceremony of the Poultry Science Conference was also addressed by Abdul Hai Mehta, Dr. Hanif Nazir Chaudhry, Dr. Aamir Ghafoor Bajwa and others. On this occasion, it was informed that this conference has been organized every year since 2017. This year is the seventh edition of the conference. The aim of organizing the conference is to bring together researchers, academia and industry on one platform and promote mutual cooperation.

On the occasion of the conference, the industry gets an opportunity to learn about modern research, while researchers and educational and research institutions get aware of the real problems of the industry and recent developments. Prof Dr. Aamir Ghafoor Bajwa highlighted the role of research in the development of the poultry industry and assured all possible cooperation from the university. Abdul Hai Mehta, Chief Organizer of the International Poultry Expo, thanked the Veterinary University for organizing the conference.

Technical Sessions of Poultry Science Conference 2025

In various technical sessions of the conference, researchers and experts shed light on various topics related to the use of artificial intelligence in poultry, intestinal health, control of poultry diseases, alternative sources of antibiotics, biological treatment of poultry diseases, modern means of disease diagnosis, innovation in poultry nutrition, innovation in vaccines and innovation in poultry production.

The first session was led by Professor Dr. Aamir Ghafoor Bajwa and Dean Faculty of Veterinary Sciences Bahauddin Zakaria University Multan Dr. Faqir Muhammad. The second session was led by Dean Veterinary Faculty UVAS Professor Anila Zameer Durrani, Dean Veterinary Faculty Aird University Prof Irfan Yousaf and Prof Dr. Aamir Ghafoor.

Award Winning Research

At the end of the conference, prizes were given to students who did outstanding research work. The first Professor Aftab Ahmed Anjum Award was given to Manahel Ashraf, who developed an effective vaccine while researching Salmonella. This research was completed under the supervision of Professor Dr. Amir Ghafoor Bajwa, which is being appreciated internationally.

The second prize was also given to another paper from the same research group, presented by Mah Noor, which was based on modern research progress against Salmonella in poultry under the supervision of Professor Dr. Amir Ghafoor Bajwa and Dr. Suleman. The judges of the conference were Professor Dr. Khalid Naeem Khawaja, Dr. Hamid Irshad and Dr. Muhammad Danish.

Professor Dr. Ali Ahmed Sheikh, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ijaz, Professor Dr. Yasin Tipu, Dr. Muhammad Imran Najeeb, Dr. Amanullah Khan, Dr. Rida Haroon Durrani, Dr. Masham Mukhtar, Dr. Muhammad Mubashir Baig and Professor Dr. Muhammad Kashif Saleem contributed to its preparation.
