
Virtual Veterinary Expo launched, Chairman GCLI Major General (R) Shahid Mahmood inaugurated
An online exhibition covering livestock, dairy, poultry, pets, and other related sectors has been launched. The Virtual Veterinary Expo was inaugurated by the Chairman Green Corporate Livestock Initiative (GCLI) Major General (R) Shahid Mahmood.
On this occasion, Major General (R) Shahid Mahmood said that the Green Corporate Livestock Initiative is taking steps to promote investment in the livestock sector as well as to strengthen traditional and commercial farmers. He said that the development of the livestock sector can ensure food security as well as strengthen the country’s economy. Various institutions have invested in the livestock sector through the efforts of GCLI. GCLI has also started the production of sexed semen in Pakistan. Through the GRIDD project, farmers and business entities are being collabrated. More work is also underway on the quality of vaccines and other areas.
Major General (R) Shahid Mahmood appreciated the establishment of a platform like the Virtual Veterinary Expo. He said that information from government, semi-government, and business institutions in Pakistan will be available at one place through this platform. Commercial farmers, entrepreneurs, and investors as well as professionals related to livestock, poultry, and veterinary sectors will be able to benefit from this portal. He stressed the importance of keeping the online platform updated and including more companies and institutions.
Details of Virtual Veterinary Expo
Dr. Muhammad Jasir Aftab, Chief Editor of the Virtual Veterinary Expo, said that more than 130 companies related to livestock, dairy, poultry, pets, and other sectors related to feeding, breeding, medicines, vaccines, nutraceuticals, feed additives, machinery and equipment, shed construction, animal import, consultancy, business development, veterinary services, dairy products, pet practice, diagnostic services, and diagnostic equipment are part of the exhibition.
More than 130 government institutions related to livestock, poultry and veterinary sectors of Pakistan, veterinary educational institutions, and various associations are also included in this online platform. Information on meat exporters, news agencies, and major exhibitions held in Pakistan has also been included. In total, complete details of more than 180 institutions can be obtained from this virtual veterinary expo.
He said that the aim of launching the expo on the news website is to keep it active. Information on the online expo will be available throughout the year, while work will be done on its systematic promotion in the month of June every year. Further, promotion will continue throughout the year in different ways. He thanked the livestock, dairy, poultry, and pet industries of Pakistan for their trust and cooperation.
