The Drug Registration Board of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan has granted permission to import the Lumpy Skin vaccine. After the registration of the vaccine, letters have been issued to two companies.

Eros Pharmaceuticals will import the vaccine named Lumpy Shield from Jordan while Mustafa Brothers will import the vaccine named Aria LSD from Russia. Both vaccines have been registered and instructions have also been issued to the companies in this regard.

Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association of Pakistan President Shakir Umar Gujjar has thanked DRAP for registering the vaccine import. In this regard, he has also appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of National Food Security and Research and especially the efforts of Animal Husbandry Commissioner Pakistan Dr. Muhammad Akram.
Shakir Umar says that for the early availability of the vaccine, the companies will have to take further steps on an emergency basis.

He further said that the Sindh Livestock Department and Municipal Commissioners will also have to accelerate their efforts to control the disease.
