Novel Corona Virus Diagnostic Kit Prepared by Pakistani Young Scientist
A young Pakistani scientist has achieved the most important feat. The National University of Science and Technology has developed a diagnostic kit for corona virus. In this regard, Federal Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry also tweeted in which it was stated that a diagnostic kit has been prepared at the local level in Pakistan. The imported kit costs Rs 8000 while the local kit will cost Rs 2000.
This kit was developed by Dr. Ali Zohaib along with his team. Dr. Ali Zohaib is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Healthcare Biotechnology, Attaur Rahman School of Applied Biosciences, National University of Science and Technology. He is primarily a veterinary doctor who completed DVM from Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.
Dr. Ali Zohaib received his PhD from Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research there was on Corona virus. Before this, Dr. Ali Zohaib has also conducted research on Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), a disease caused by the Corona virus itself. The cause of this disease was the corona virus, in which the virus was transferred from camels to humans. It should be noted that the city of Wuhan is the same city in China where the recent disease of the corona virus, COVID-19, started.
